John Upton began producing films and videos in 1986. Since then he has written, produced, and directed more than a few projects. Some projects he's been involved in have garnered Emmy Awards, Peabody Awards, Angel Awards, Freedom Awards, Excellence in the Media Awards, Special Congressional Recognition, Honors from the British Parliament, and an Honorary Doctorate. His work and collaborations have been broadcasted  on CNN, ABC 20/20, CBS 60 Minutes, ABC Good Morning America, PBS, BBC, and local news.

Upton is best known for his work with Romanian Orphans which was broadcast 6 times on ABC 20/20. The reports were hailed as 20/20’s “most inspirational series”.  During this period, Upton formed a coalition with 75 members of US Congress and Senate and powerful entertainment industry figures to reform Romanian Adoption Laws.  He raised $600,000 in cash, $100,000 in airfare and $1.5 million in medical treatment to rescue 39 handicapped Romanian orphans and provided them homes and medical treatment in the U.S. It also resulted in over 4000 adoptions of children from Romania into homes throughout the world.

Upton’s projects have helped to raise millions of dollars for charities,  provided medical care for needy individuals, saved a wildlife habitat, erected statute in Central Park, changed public perception on issues of interest, and helped good politicians to get elected.
